James I. Geller, MD, completed undergraduate training at Dartmouth College, medical training at the Tel Aviv University, residency training in pediatrics at New York Medical College and pediatric hematology / oncology training at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His current appointment is with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center within the University of Cincinnati in the capacity of Professor of Pediatrics.

Dr. Geller is the Medical Director of the Liver and Renal Tumor Programs. His primary academic interest is the development of novel therapy options for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with solid tumors. At the institutional level, this is achieved through direct patient care and by leading our teams in clinical and research efforts in his specialty areas at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. At the national level, Dr. Geller is a member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) Liver Tumor and Renal Tumor Committees; serving as co-Chair of the International Hepatoblastoma study, AHEP1531/PHITT, Chair of several kidney tumor studies in children with high-risk/relapsed kidney tumors, and COG Chair of the Renal Tumor Committee. Dr. Geller has served as a member of the COG Developmental Therapeutics Committee for many years, including participation as a liaison to the Pediatric Preclinical Testing Program and on the Agent Selection Committee for the Pediatric MATCH study.

Dr. Geller also has a long track record of prioritizing stakeholder engagement, exemplified by the organization of the first several ‘Hepatoblastoma Family Day’ events pulling together parent/patient stakeholders with clinicians and researchers, in effort to define mutual priorities and to make advancements together. This registry was one concept presented and discussed in the process.
